This page is to let you know what you need to do as a player or a clan leader before the brawl.
Players
First, make sure you played enough games and ensure your clan leader has added you to a team. Also make sure you are available for a full 5 hours from the start of the brawl in case your clan gets to the finals!
The Preliminary Round
If your team is in the preliminary round, you will have to play one or more games during the week before the brawl. The draw will be linked on the info for The Battlefield as well as easily accessible using the Brawl link at the top of every page; find your opponent(s) and send them a message on KGS to arrange a time to play. Ensure you play with the correct colours! (You can click the stones next to your name to change colours on KGS.)
Once you've played your game, let the leader of your clan, or a clan system admin know you've played and they will update the result for you.
The Main Brawl
BE ONLINE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE BRAWL. This is important, as your clan moderators will be panicking, trying to find a replacement for you if you are late!
Again, check the draw for each round. The first clan listed in each pairing should create the games (otherwise there'd be a huge number of open games!), so either create your game and wait for the opponent to challenge or wait for the opponent to create and then challenge him. Ensure you play with the correct colours! (You can click the stones next to your name to change colours on KGS.)
Once your game is over, let the brawl master know the result and wait until the next round.
Make sure you watch the chat in The Battlefield for bold messages from admins while you're not playing - it will let you know when the next round is starting.
Clan Leaders
First, ensure your clan has played enough games to get the points required to enter your teams. Make sure you've added all the teams you want before the start of the preliminary round, and make sure the teams are listed in the correct order on your clan's summary page. You must also set all the teams you want in the brawl to 'ready' by using the Set Team Ready Status form. Make sure all of the teams are listed as "ready for brawl" -- if they are not, the system will not add them to the draw, and they will not be playing.
Make sure all of the team members at the preliminary round can make the main brawl. If you have too many teams, you may find you end up with many forfeits. You MAY NOT switch players between teams after the preliminary round draw is made.
Before any round a team will be playing in, ensure you've selected the lineup of members of that team who will be playing. If you do not do this, your team might not be able to play! You can re-arrange the team lineups between rounds; just make sure you have a full lineup before the draw happens.
After preliminary round games have been played, find the game on the KGS Archives and paste the URL to the SGF file into this form (to get the URL, right click the "Yes" for the game and press "Copy Link Address" or similar). The result will instantly be updated onto the page, so that people can see the current status.
Finally, ensure all of the members you selected for the lineup actually turn up and play! There's nothing worse for your opponents than winning all of the games by default and having to wait around for an hour.
